(Bellefonte) Senator Jake Corman (R-34) released the following statement in response to questions on a proposed settlement in the Corman v. NCAA case:
“Currently, I am preparing for trial, which is scheduled to begin February 17, 2015, as set by Judge Anne Covey. The trial seeks to answer the question of whether the Consent Decree imposed upon Penn State University by the National Collegiate Athletic Association is valid.
As has been the case throughout this litigation, any conversation on possible ways to resolve this matter have been received and reviewed. To date, I have not agreed to any settlement or proposed resolution. While I am open to conversations on a possible resolution, to be sure, any settlement will be judged upon what is best for the Commonwealth.”
