Harrisburg – Pennsylvania Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman (R-34) issued the following statement following Centre County President Judge Tom Kistler’s decision to withdraw his name from consideration for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court:
“I respect Judge Kistler’s decision to focus on the needs of our Centre County community rather than continue to seek the position on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
“Prior to his nomination, Judge Kistler and I discussed the ongoing issues in the Centre County judicial system and concerns for his leaving the local bench during this time. In the weeks since his nomination, it has become increasingly apparent that the priority for Judge Kistler was and needed to be our local community. As a local resident, I appreciate that.
“Judge Kistler has served Centre County and the community well during his 17-year judicial career and he will continue to do so.”
