(HARRISBURG) – State College Area School District in Centre County has been awarded a state grant of $1.737 million to make energy improvements to an area elementary school, according to Senator Jake Corman (R-34).
“Clean, affordable energy plays an important role when planning for the state’s energy future,” Corman said. “I am pleased the Corl Street Elementary project will receive this funding as the project helps to meet that energy goal. By implementing energy efficiency features, the school district will save tax dollars and provide a better, more environmentally friendly facility for students and teachers.”
Corman said the grant was awarded through the Commonwealth Finance Authority’s Alternative and Clean Energy Program. It will be used to renovate the Corl Street Elementary School into a high-performance building.
