Corman Announces $680,000 in Grant and Loan Funding for Centre County Municipal Authority

(HARRISBURG) – Sen. Jake Corman (R-34) announces that the Haines-Woodward Municipal Authority will receive $680,000 in state grant and loan funding to provide the area with a source of safe and reliable drinking water.

Corman said the Haines-Woodward Municipal Authority will receive a $536,118 low interest loan and a $143,812 grant from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST).

Corman said the authority will use the funds to construct a 45 gallon per minute well pumping system and a 53,000 gallon ground level bolted steel finished water storage tank.

Established in 2006, the Haines-Woodward Municipal Authority provides residents of Woodward and Haines Township in Centre County with drinking water.

“I am very pleased that the authority received this funding from PENNVEST to help provide safe drinking water to its customers,” Corman said. “With very little assets, the grant approved by the PENNVEST board is welcome news to the residents of Woodward and Haines Township.”
