(HARRISBURG) – Sen. Jake Corman (R-34) will make a visit to Centre Volunteers in Medicine and tour the facility, which provides free healthcare to uninsured Centre County residents, on Friday, June 20, 2008.

Corman will be at the Centre County Volunteers in Medicine facility, located in Suite 102 of 251 Easterly Parkway in State College on Friday, June 20th at 2:30 p.m.

Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation whose primary mission is to understand and serve the health and wellness needs of uninsured individuals who live in Centre County, Pennsylvania.

CVIM provides access to free primary and preventive medical and dental care to residents of the county that meet certain eligibility criteria. In addition, CVIM provides referrals to specialists as necessary and makes referrals to other social services for which our patients might qualify.

In 2002, Senator Corman secured a $5,000 state grant for CVIM, which was used for renovations and equipment when the organization began operations.

Senator Jake Corman, the Senate’s Majority Policy Chairman, represents the 34th Senatorial District, which includes Centre, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry and Union Counties.
