Statement by Senator Corman Regarding Attorney General’s Presentment

I am shocked and saddened by the allegations that were in the Attorney General’s presentment and comments made at her press conference today regarding Jerry Sandusky and individuals at Pennsylvania State University.  As the father of three, first and foremost my prayers and sympathy go out to the victims and the victims’ families.

These charges have rocked our community because so much of what our community is about are our core values of integrity, decency, and honor. These charges run counter to our culture.

The actions of Mr. Sandusky, if true, are not only criminal but also reprehensible beyond imagination.  I support the investigative process and a full review of how the University handled reports of the incident internally.  The Attorney General, the University, or the community should not tolerate any complicity with regard to failure to notify appropriate law enforcement officials.
