Harrisburg – State Senator Jake Corman (R-34) announced today that as part of a cost-saving and consolidation effort, his office in New Bloomfield will close by March 8th. Residents of Perry County can receive assistance and information regarding all state government and General Assembly issues through Senator Corman’s offices in Lewistown and Harrisburg.
Due to flat budget funding for many years, combined with increased costs, the Senate has worked to cut costs to taxpayers by reducing office locations and staff throughout the state. Corman said he and his staff will continue to provide the same high-quality level of service that area residents are used to.
“It is important to be a good steward of tax dollars, especially during these challenging economic times,” Corman said. “I believe that we need smaller, more effective government and I am confident that many of my constituents share this viewpoint as well.”
