(HARRISBURG) – Ferguson Township, Centre County, has been awarded a state grant to support the costs of upgrading traffic signals under the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s “Green Light-Go” program, according to Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman (R-34).
“Moving residents safely through our community reduces traffic congestion and improves the quality of life in the region,” Senator Corman said. “I am proud to support a program such as this that helps improve safety and mobility.”
The township will receive $80,000 to modernize loop detectors with dilemma zone radar detection at two intersections along Blue Course Drive and Science Park Road.
Green Light-Go is a competitive state grant program designed to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals throughout the state. It was established by Act 89 of 2013. The grants are provided as reimbursement to municipalities for updates to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals.
